Ferrostaal is a global, technology-independent systems integrator, focussed on the development, financing, management and construction of turnkey industrial plants. As general contractor, Ferrostaal provides single source solutions and services for solar thermal power plants based on parabolic trough and solar tower technologies – with some 5,300 employees in over 40 countries.

Each of Ferrostaal's 50 MW projects of Andasol 3 and Extremasol 1 in southern Spain meet the power needs of 50,000 households. Utilising their 7.5-hour storage systems, they can generate power as needed – not just when the sun is shining. The ability to store energy makes solar thermal power plants an essential part of renewable energies in the electricity mix of the future.
