As general contractor, ÖKOBIT carried out an impressive feat by taking the ABICON project, "Willingshausen Bio Natural Gas Plant", from design to completion in only eight months. This represents a successful community project in which, along with ABICON GmbH, 34 farmers and the municipal company of Städtische Werke AG Kassel are owners.

This modern and high-tech biogas plant produces 6.4 million cubic metres of biogas each year during normal operation. The biogas is processed into natural gas quality using a high-pressure water scrubber and fed into the nearby natural gas grid.

Just a few weeks after construction, the plant was already operating at optimal capacity utilisation.

The rapid and competent commissioning was carried out by ÖKOBIT's partner company, greentec-service GmbH.
