Since 1994, IMO Antriebseinheit GmbH & Co. KG has been developing, producing and marketing innovative self-contained slew drives for an international clientele. The internationally patented worm and spur gear driven slew drives have been successfully used for years as the perfect solution for tracking systems for photovoltaic and solar thermal panels. Further applications range from construction machinery and manlift platforms to cranes and steering gears.
As a supplier of slewing rings and slew drives, IMO is a worldwide market leader in the field of renewable energy. IMO slewing rings are used as blade bearings in every fifth wind turbine currently being built. With a unique pilot project for a tidal power station, IMO blade bearings demonstrate their extreme durability when submerged at a depth of 15 m.
