dena Solar Roofs Programme

dena solar roofs worldwide serve as flagship projects for German renewable energy expertise in the field of photovoltaics, solar cooling and solar thermal energy. From Australia to the USA, all of the plants designed and implemented under this programme demonstrate the flexibility of German renewable energy technology and know-how, working with given local circumstances while meeting discerning user-specific requirements.

The programme, coordinated by the Deutsche Energie-Agentur GmbH (dena) - the German Energy Agency - brings together rising international interest for German solar technology and German companies with an interest in and the capacity to access attractive international markets.

The close coordination of dena ensures the installation of unique, customized systems. Further, dena initiates and oversees the transfer of the specific technology and application know-how.

All of the solar roofs projects developed by dena are designed as public private partnerships (PPP) and co-financed by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. Since 2004, 40 projects have been realised, i.e. in Australia, China, Russia, Nicaragua, India, Portugal, Indonesia, Turkey, Ethiopia and Taiwan.
