Solar thermal power plant "Puerto Errado 2"
Construction of the complete solar field extending to approx. 600,000 m2.
Heberger Bau AG from Schifferstadt was commissioned to construct the complete solar field of the at present largest Fresnel solar thermal power plant worldwide in Murcia, Spain. The individual tasks that Heberger Group took on itself include:
- foundation with 14,000 steel anchoring bolts (screwing accuracy: +/- 10 mm, total station), orbital welding of stainless steel absorber pipes (4 mm wall, butt welding without filler metal, 28 rows of 1 km length each, working height 8 m) with the company’s own homologated welders (pressure vessel manufacturer conforming to EU directive)
- conducting of pressure tests at up to 180 bar using high-performance test pumps and certified metrology
- assembly and calibration of 75,264 primary reflectors (= 330,000 m2 of mirror face) incl. the complete steel substructure (tolerances +/- 5 mm, measured with total station)
- construction, delivery and assembly of 28 cold end towers of ten-meter height for mounting collector rows of 1 km length
- electrical installation of over 600 control cabinets and end cabinets and the corresponding motors for aligning the primary reflectors to the prevailing position of the sun
- installation of 2,940 concrete poles (diameter = 400 mm)
HEBERGER’s Renewables department offers complete packages but also individual subservices worldwide. Initial orbital welding has been conducted in Australia
