It is the official aim of the German Government to pay a significant contribution to international climate protection. To that end, the Government has actively been supporting the worldwide dissemination of cutting-edge German renewable energy technology and know-how since 2002. The transfer of renewable energy know-how, the promotion of foreign trade and the facilitation of international development cooperation are part of the "renewables - Made in Germany" initiative.

The initiative is carried out under the auspices of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology in cooperation with various partner organizations, such as the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad, Germany Trade and Invest, the Deutsche Energie-Agentur GmbH (German Energy Agency), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit GmbH (German Technical Cooperation or GTZ) as well as relevant industry associations. The German Energy Agency is responsible for national and international public relations.

This Internet portal presents an overview of German renewable energy industries and companies providing international markets with an extensive range of products and services in the solar, wind and bio energy sectors as well as in geothermal and hydropower. Companies such as certification bodies and logistics agents which are active in all renewable energy sectors also introduce themselves. A Yellow Pages section allows you to navigate through a comprehensive directory of German companies active in this sector.
